Questionaire

1. What’s your major? What year will you graduate?

My major is psychology and I will graduate in 2017.

2. Why did you choose a photography class (or photography as a major), and what do you hope to learn from school in general and this class specifically?


The main reason that I am taking this class is because I needed a visual and performing arts credits. The other reason is because my dad is a photographer/video editor and I just love photography.

3. What are your goals after graduation? Please list your goals in reverse order, starting five years out, then three, two, one, and six months.

In five years after graduation I hope to have a job as a counselor at a high school. In three years after graduation, I hope to graduate from graduate school. In two and one years after graduation, I hope to be in graduate school for counseling. Six months after graduation I hope to be entering graduate school.

4. What artists, musicians, photographers, writers, movies, books have influenced you/your work?

I am influenced by the musicians Bastille, Vampire Weekend, HelloGoodbye, the Lumineers and Fleet Foxes, and the movies/books the Lord of the Rings, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the Perks of Being a Wallflower.

5. Are there any important websites that you are referencing for art/photo competitions and/or information?

Since I am new to this concept I have not ventured out to find examples.

6. What museums and/or galleries have you been to in the past year?

I went to the RCA Studio and the state capital.

7. Have you had any photo projects and/ or training in the past?

Yes.

8. What is the value of art for the artist?

What they are feeling at the time they made the piece of art.

9. What is the value of art for the audience?

How they perceive the art piece.

10. Is photography a vocation or an avocation?

An avocation because people like to photograph things that they enjoy.

11. What is your passion?

My passion is music and making harmony with the world.

12.What are you afraid of? What makes you uncomfortable?

I am afraid of being alone and tense situations make me uncomfortable.

13. Do you have a passport? Are you a traveller?

I do not have a passport but I love to travel.

14. Who is your favorite artist? And why?

My favorite artist is Leonardo Da Vinci because of his unique art style, for example Starry Night.

15. Why did you sign up for this class? What do you hope to learn from it?

I signed up for this class because I thought it would be fun and I hope to learn the most basic fundamentals of photography so that I can do it more in the future.
